Blonde bombshell songstress Christina Aguilera has 28 straight weeks in the Top Five and for the past two weeks has been the Number One Glamour Girl with her smash double CD “Back to Basics,” including the Top 25-charting second single “Hurt”; she also guests on Sean (Diddy) Combs’ single “Tell Me,” and has the cover of Cosmo Girl.  Diva Beyonce’ Knowles is #2 with her chart-topping album, including its fast-climbing third single “Irreplaceable” now at #2 in Billboard; with the eagerly-anticipated flick “Dreamgirls” directly ahead, she also has the covers of British Glamour, Seventeen, Vanity Fair (with the film’s cast), and Elle.  The goofball comedy smash “Borat” gives Pamela Anderson a prominent cameo, and together with yet another nude cover layout in Playboy and her customary high Lycos Internet ranking it enables the Canadian-born bombshell to reach #3.  Lindsay Lohan is on the move at #4 with an acclaimed performance in the ensemble 1968 drama “Bobby.”   Voluptuous blonde Scarlett Johansson has a hit with the clever mystery “The Prestige,” and it enabled her to reign as #1 for three recent weeks (now at #5) with the help of Royalty and British In Style covers.

How the Glamour Girls Hot 100 Is Compiled

Glamour girls earn credit for each weekly chart in the following categories:

Movies: The current Top 100 at the box office; films that recently left theaters; and pictures scheduled for release in the coming weeks.  Note that a glamorous role in a mid-level film can earn more credit than a bland role in a bigger hit.  Oscars, Golden Globes, and other honors are included; also, critical acclaim can earn the same credit as box office dollars.

Magazines: Over 100 U.S. and international publications are included in each survey.  Magazines on newsstands during the survey period count most heavily; recent magazines of the previous few weeks count at reduced value.  Covers earn more points than inside features; top-level magazines (Playboy, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Esquire, GQ, Maxim, etc.) are accorded higher value than others; nude or semi-nude layouts get extra credit.  Newspapers (most notably USA Today) and pin-up calendars are also included in this category.

TV: What’s on the tube during the survey period, including first-run movies and appearances on late-night talk shows; Nielsen ratings and Emmy/Golden Globe awards are also taken into consideration.

Internet: The major factors in this category are the Lycos Top 50, a weekly chart measuring the most-searched items through the Lycos search engine (including many glamour girls), and the daily top 100 rankings by DAI News tracking the women with the most photo downloads. Selected Web sites are also included, most notably the Playboy Cyber Club, Ask Men.com, Simply Gorgeous, Maxim, FHM & GQ websites, and others. 

Music: The Billboard singles and album charts; MTV and VH-1 music video rankings as published in Billboard; European and international charts.  Grammy Awards and other music industry honors are credited here.

Sports: Glamorous gals who earn athletic achievements during the survey period.

Other: Broadway and off-Broadway theater; books.
