With her fourth consecutive week as the Number One Glamour Girl, Halle Berry becomes the first woman to hold onto the supreme position for that long a period since she achieved the feat herself for five consecutive weeks from March 6 through April 3. This time, it’s the spectacular box office success of “Die Another Day” ($120 million through its third weekend) and the covers of Vogue, British Esquire, and the Playboy Interview that keep her in the top spot. Halle’s tenacity means that Jennifer Lopez has bided her time with three straight weeks (and four of the last six weeks) in the #2 position, with hot cover features in GQ & Harpers Bazaar, a new hit album, and romantic comedy “Maid In Manhattan” coming shortly.

“Dirrty” gal Christina Aguilera returns to #3 as her new single “Beautiful” soars to the edge of the Top Ten, combined with her Internet strength and the steamy Maxim Blender cover spread. Heidi Klum surges again to #4 with her Victoria’s Secret starring role, topless poses in the Pirelli calendar, and the cover of Italian GQ. Country queen Shania Twain hits a new peak of #5 with her chart-topping album “Up!” and cover of People. How the Glamour Girls Hot 100 Is Compiled

Glamour girls earn points for each biweekly chart in the following categories:

1) Movies: The current Top 60 at the box office; films that recently left theaters; and pictures scheduled for release in the coming weeks. Note that a glamorous role in a mid-level film can earn more points than a bland role in a bigger hit. Oscars, Golden Globes, and other honors are included; also, critical acclaim can earn the same credit as box office dollars.

2) Magazines: Approximately 150 U.S. and international publications are included in each survey. Magazines on newsstands during the survey period count most heavily; recent magazines of the previous few weeks count at reduced value. Covers earn more points than inside features; top-level magazines (Playboy, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, etc.) are accorded higher point totals than others; nude or semi-nude layouts get extra credit. Newspapers (most notably USA Today) and pin-up calendars are also included in this category.

3) TV: What’s on the tube during the two-week survey period, including first-run movies and appearances on late-night talk shows; Nielsen ratings and Emmy/Golden Globe awards also taken into consideration.

4) Internet: The major factors in this category are the Lycos Top 50, a weekly chart measuring the most-searched items through the Lycos search engine (including many glamour girls), and the daily top 100 rankings by DAI News of the women with the most photo downloads. Selected Web sites are also included, most notably Gateway to Eden, the Playboy Cyber Club, Mystique, Mac & Bumble, Bomis, IGN for Men, Ask Men.com, Famous Centerfolds, Danni’s Hard Drive, Adversus, VIP Models, Candy Dreams, TeraBabes, Maxim, FHM & GQ websites, and others.

5) Music: The Billboard singles and album charts; MTV and VH-1 music video rankings as published in Billboard; European and international charts. Grammy Awards and other music industry honors are credited here.

6) Home Video: The video sales, video rentals, and DVD sales charts as reported in Billboard and Entertainment Weekly. This category carries about half the weight of the above “Big Five.”

7) Sports: Glamorous gals who earn athletic achievements during the survey period.

8) Other: Broadway and off-Broadway theater; books.

9) Beauty and Sex Appeal.
