Britney Spears left all rivals in the dust, reigning as the supreme glamour girl once again with the release of her third album, a flurry of new magazine covers, her usual #1 Internet ranking, and an upcoming HBO concert special. #2 Pamela Anderson is followed by fellow “Baywatch” alumnus Gena Lee Nolin, who achieves her highest ranking to date at #3 as the December Playboy cover girl. Jennifer Lopez at #4 has her own NBC special airing shortly. Supermodel Estella Warren earns another week in the Top Five with a new cover feature in the November British Esquire. Britain’s most desired woman Kelly Brook is #6, one notch ahead of Sarah Michelle Gellar, whose musical episode was another triumph for “Buffy.” “Enterprise” vixen Jolene Blalock (#8), Movieline cover goddess Elizabeth Hurley (#9), and Laura Elena Harring (#10)—sensational in David Lynch’s wild “Mulholland Drive”—round out the Top Ten. “Charmed” bombshell Alyssa Milano moves up to a new peak position of #12, and her cover layout in the December Stuff makes the sultry brunette a sure bet to crack the Top Ten for the first time. Hit films enable #15 Shannon Elizabeth (“13 Ghosts”), #17 Drew Barrymore (“Riding In Cars With Boys”), and #18 Heather Graham (“From Hell”) to continue their upward momentum. Another Stuff cover girl, Brooke Burke, enters the Top 20 for the first time at #19. Blonde sizzler Caprice Bourret (#22) and Europe’s musical chart-topper Kylie Minogue (#23) are vigorous movers. #24 Halle Berry co-stars in the #1 home video; #25 Gwyneth Paltrow wears a thong in the comedy hit “Shallow Hal”; and #30 Naomi Watts makes love with Laura Elena Harring in “Mulholland Drive.” December Playboy Playmate Shanna Moakler reaches #33, and Gwyneth’s “Shallow Hal” castmate Susan Ward is one notch behind. Three of the ladies to be featured on the Victoria’s Secret ABC special (along with #16 Gisele Bundchen) are strong movers: Laetitia Casta (#39), Tyra Banks (#41), and Daniela Pestova (#51). Mexico’s favorite daughter Salma Hayek rises to #40 following the airing of her Showtime movie. Pop star/budding actress Samantha Mumba, Guess beauty Josie Maran, and bosom queen Linsey Dawn McKenzie make decisive moves into the Top 50. The pop music charts are fueling the drives of #52 Shakira (with her first English-language album) and #56 Mary J. Blige (with the nation’s #1 pop single “Family Affair”).
