No longer just a “Friend,” Jennifer Aniston is now the Number One Glamour Girl for her Oscar-caliber performance in “The Good Girl,” her first-ever Emmy Award, and magazine covers including Esquire and In Style. Jennifer Lopez holds down the #2 position on the strength of her unclad perfume ads, #1 dance song “Alive,” and the cover of French Max. Mexican hottie Paulina Rubio reaches a new peak of #3 with sizzling cover features in British FHM, the Spanish magazine Man, & Stuff. The young goddess of “Smallville,” Kristin Kreuk (aka Lana Lang), rises to #4 as the show’s season premiere achieves its best-ever rating, and with her superb boudoir layout in FHM. Recent chart-topper Heidi Klum is #5, following up her classic GQ cover spread by gracing (semi-nude) the cover of the holiday Abercrombie & Fitch catalog.

 

Colombian bombshell Shakira is back in the Top Ten at #6 with her fast-rising chart single “Objection” and continuing hot record sales across Europe. The season premiere of “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” and several recent covers bring Sarah Michelle Gellar to #7. Although “The Tuxedo” is being trashed by critics, it helps lift Jennifer Love Hewitt to a personal-best #8 ranking in combination with her hot Rolling Stone cover and new album. Adorably blonde Reese Witherspoon scored a giant $35 millionng weekend for her new film “Sweet Home Alabama,” and she soars to #9. Tennis vamp & champ Serena Williams (with yet another tournament victory in Germany) hangs in nicely at #10.

The quick box office demise of “Ballistic: Eck vs. Sever” causes Lucy Liu to slip to #23. A wonderful cover feature in Maxim sends “That ‘70s Show” teen knockout Mila Kunis to #25, one step ahead of Total Movie cover gal Eliza Dushku (“City By the Sea”). The cover girl of the 2003 Playboy Playmate Calendar, Dalene Kurtis, is up to #28, while a half-naked season premiere appearance in “Charmed” takes Alyssa Milano to #30.

 

Brazil’s Gisele Bundchen, seldom far from the top echelon of the survey, bounces back to #33 with the cover of Marie Claire. British big-bosom queen Linsey Dawn McKenzie jumps to #35 with her latest cover spread in Score; another British bombshell, blonde Emma Blocksage (aka “Emma B”), is up to #36 with her splendid cover layout in Front. Controversy cover girl Leann Tweeden, also featured in British FHM, hits a new peak of #37. Two standouts from Playboy‘s Exotic Beauties, Tila Nguyen (#38) and cover girl Lena Li (#39), immediately follow. Roles in “Swimfan” and “The Banger Sisters” bring pretty Erika Christensen to #40.

 

The original “Buffy,” Kristy Swanson, bares all in a ravishing November Playboy cover layout to zoom to #44. How the Glamour Girls Hot 100 Is Compiled

Glamour girls earn points for each biweekly chart in the following categories:

1)     Movies: The current Top 60 at the box office; films that recently left theaters; and pictures scheduled for release in the coming weeks. Note that a glamorous role in a mid-level film can earn more points than a bland role in a bigger hit. Oscars, Golden Globes, and other honors are included; also, critical acclaim can earn the same credit as box office dollars.

2)     Magazines: Approximately 150 U.S. and international publications are included in each survey. Magazines on newsstands during the survey period count most heavily; recent magazines of the previous few weeks count at reduced value. Covers earn more points than inside features; top-level magazines (Playboy, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, etc.) are accorded higher point totals than others; nude or semi-nude layouts get extra credit. Newspapers (most notably USA Today) and pin-up calendars are also included in this category.

3)     TV: What’s on the tube during the two-week survey period, including first-run movies and appearances on late-night talk shows; Nielsen ratings and Emmy/Golden Globe awards also taken into consideration.

4)     Internet: The major factors in this category are the Lycos Top 50, a weekly chart measuring the most-searched items through the Lycos search engine (including many glamour girls). Selected Web sites are also included, most notably Gateway to Eden, the Playboy Cyber Club, Mystique, Mac & Bumble, Bomis, IGN for Men, Ask Men.com, Famous Centerfolds, Danni’s Hard Drive, Adversus, VIP Models, Candy Dreams, TeraBabes, Maxim, FHM & GQ websites, and others.

5)     Music: The Billboard singles and album charts; MTV and VH-1 music video rankings as published in Billboard; European and international charts. Grammy Awards and other music industry honors are credited here.

6)     Home Video: The video sales, video rentals, and DVD sales charts as reported in Billboard and Entertainment Weekly. This category carries about half the weight of the above “Big Five.”

7)     Sports: Glamorous gals who earn athletic achievements during the survey period.

8)     Other: Broadway and off-Broadway theater; books.

9)     Beauty and Sex Appeal.
